GameMode is a daemon/lib combo for Linux that allows games to request a set of optimisations be temporarily applied to the host OS and/or a game process. GameMode was designed primarily as a stop-gap solution to problems with the Intel and AMD CPU powersave or ondemand governors, but is now host to a range of optimisation features and configurations. Currently GameMode includes support for optimisations including: CPU governor I/O priority Process niceness Kernel scheduler (SCHED_ISO) Screensaver inhibiting GPU performance mode (NVIDIA and AMD), GPU overclocking (NVIDIA) CPU core pinning or parking Custom scripts

pamixer is like amixer but for PulseAudio. It can control the volume levels of the sinks. Features Get the current volume of the default sink, the default source or a selected one by his id. Set the volume for the default sink, the default source or any other device. List the sinks. List the sources. Increase / Decrease the volume for a device (using gamma correction optionally). Mute or unmute a device.

snapwm is a dynamic tiling window manager that aims to be light on resources, easy to configure and offer choice. The main emphasis is on keyboard control with some mouse support provided. There are four tiling modes (Vertical, Horizontal, Grid, Fullscreen) and a stacking mode. Three simple text files that are updatable with a keyboard shortcut make configuration simple. There is a bar with a desktop switcher and space for user supplied text. Multiple monitors are supported through Xrandr and Xinerama with one desktop shown per monitor.
